When you die in the fight, or in general after picking up the memento, you'll be brought back to life quite quickly, given another chance to fight. We recommend saving this pick up for when you're taking on the boss because a second life likely won't be more useful anywhere else in the game than during a boss fight. The game doesn't necessarily tell you this, but that's what picking the memento up does for you. Whether you are struggling to kill Phrike in the Overgrown Ruins, or you have already made your way to the Fractured Wastes, you will need to always be looking for ways to heal. The enemies that you will find across Atropos are ruthless, and will stop at nothing to kill you over and over. Pick it up and you'll now have a second life. Theres no denying it: Returnal is a tough game. In the Overgrown Ruins example, this memento will be a small figurine of an astronaut. Right beside you will be a new "collectible" as it were. In Returnal, players will want to use everything available to them to survive, and while the Reclaimer is powerful, it isnt without consequences. Upon completion, you'll end up outside the home. To find a Reconstructor, you need to keep an eye out for a small symbol on your minimap that looks like an alien standing up inside a circle. Once you have it, head to the house and complete the sequence that takes place inside. Reclaimer: Like the Inert Reclaimer, but lit up by a red fluorescent light instead of a green one. Right beside you will be a new 'collectible' as it were. Upon completion, youll end up outside the home. You won't be able to enter it until you have the House Key, which can be found elsewhere in the biome. Once you have it, head to the house and complete the sequence that takes place inside. In the Overgrown Ruins, you'll come across a strange ranch-style home. We won't spoil anything that can or might happen in later parts of the game, so we'll stick to the first biome of the game, the Overgrown Ruins, for now. Y ou need what is essentially a memento from one of the mysterious houses found in the biomes of Returnal. Fortunately, that's an actual possibility. ![]() It's in those moments that you're going to wish you had a second life. It's absolutely ok to die (and it's part of how you uncover more of the story in Returnal), but there will be times when your death comes cheaply or at a very untimely moment. Whether you are struggling to kill Phrike in the Overgrown Ruins, or you have already made your way to the Fractured Wastes, you will need to always be looking for. The enemies that you will find across Atropos are ruthless, and will stop at nothing to kill you over and over. In Returnal, players will want to use everything available to them to survive, and while the Reclaimer is powerful, it isn't without consequences. This is literally what happens - when you die, you'll be brought back to the very beginning and the next sequence of rooms and hallways you go through will be completely different from the sequence in your previous run. There's no denying it: Returnal is a tough game. Finally, Ether can be traded for Obolites and can also be used to unlock new items.Returnal is a rogue-lite game in nature which means that every time you die, the layout of the biome you're in will change. ![]() Ether can be used to cleanse malignancy from an item, allowing it to be picked up without incurring a Suit Malfunction, and it can be used to charge Replicators to give players an extra life. Still, thanks to its many uses, it may be worth the effort.Įther is one of many currencies in Returnal, and with it players can do a lot of things. Because of this, players can farm Ether and end up with a huge stockpile, although it will take quite a bit of time. While all of the player's Obolites will disappear whenever they die and start a new cycle, Ether remains no matter what. The same holds true for currency as well. Unlocking certain upgrades like the Atropian Blade or the Icarian Grapnel give players a permanent boost to their character, so they are very important. ![]() In Returnal, few things are permanent, so players are likely to cling onto those things that are. Wir schlagen uns weiter durch die berwucherten Ruinen und versuchen nochmal zu Phrike zu kommen, was uns aber nicht so recht gelingen will.
